This portal provides a range of information relating to registration as an Architect in the States and Territories of Australia. It includes a list of individual Architects practising in those jurisdictions.
In each State and Territory of Australia it is a legal requirement that any person using the title Architect, or offering services to the public as an Architect, must be registered with the architect registration Board in that jurisdiction. Architect legislation has been enacted to protect consumers and the public.
Architects in Australia provide professional services in connection with the design, planning, construction, conservation, restoration, alteration or enlargement of building or group of buildings.
These professional services include, but are not limited to:
- Architectural design
- Provision of architectural studies, design, models, drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Co-ordination of technical documentation prepared by others as appropriate and without limitation (eg consulting engineers, landscape architects and other specialist consultants)
- Contract administration, monitoring of construction and project management
- Construction economics
- Urban design
- Urban, strategic and land-use planning
